Neutons, Baseball and Home Run Apples

With that first glimpse of spring came my favorite aspects of life: sun, baseball and, surprisingly, mowing my lawn. Call me crazy, but I find pacing around my yard, lawnmower in hand, to be an overall very therapeutic exercise. What wasn’t all that relaxing was digging my mower out of my backyard shed after a winter of hibernation. The first thaw of winter always brought the tumultuous task of oil to change, an engine to prime and a chord to crank for what seemed like a half an hour to get it started up. It felt like I had just gone through a war before I even got a blade of grass trimmed, giving a whole new meaning to my weekend warrior status. When I went out to my same backyard after months of snow and ice this year, the relief that came with being saved my least favorite activity of the spring cemented my decision to purchase my Neuton last summer as one of the best I could have made.

After quick charge, my battery was ready to go and I headed out to grab my little green machine. Within a matter of seconds, not hours, my Neuton 19 inch model was up and running. Just a few flicks of some switches and I was on my way, humming quietly along my yard much to the delight of my neighbors. Gliding through my lawn with ease, I used the adjustable height settings to ensure both the thinner grass of my front lawn and the thicker patches along the side of my house were both trimmed to perfection.

After only doing a light spring pick up of fallen branches, I admit I was worried about catching a few stray twigs and how the mower would handle it. But it never ceases to amaze me how this mower, running on a battery, still has heavy duty power behind it. After the lawn was manicured, I strapped on my Trimmer/Edger attachment to the front of my machine. This little innovation is fantastic. The trimmer/edger left my driveway and sidewalk pristine while again saving me the aggravation of gassing, priming and choking an intrusively noisy weed wacker. After 45 minutes of spring time therapy, my lawn came away reflecting my mood: utterly perfect.

Having put the first cut behind me like a breeze, my mind wandered at the possibilities. A summer of smooth, beautiful lawn without getting gasoline on my hands; what could be next?

After perusing the Neuton catalog, my next great conquest came to me quickly. As an avid Mets fan, my next lawn project will be to make over my yard using my Neuton mower as close to new Citi Field specifications as possible. To do this: Neuton’s Striping attachment, which will allow me to get that ballpark look to celebrate the inaugural season of my team’s new home. Now, if I could only get my hands on a replica home run apple for my back yard!

Neuton Battery-Powered Mowers Win Rave Reviews!

Check out what they have to say over at BestStuff.com!

The Neuton Mower is easy to start and weighs half the weight of the typical lawn mower the same size. One of the benefits that this lawn mower has (and your neighbors will like) is the noise. There is very little noise compared to the gas equivalent lawn mower. My neighbor has an electric lawn mower, and he chases a cord through his lawn every weekend. He has actually cut the cord accidentally several times!
